Govt releases Rs 541 crore for North-East industrialisation
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The government has released Rs 541 crore for industrialisation in the North Eastern region.
The funds are part of Rs 766 crore industrialisation project in the country's remote region.
This contrasts with release of only Rs 507.61 crore released to the region in 31 years under the transport subsidy scheme, an official statement said today. The scheme, which provides for upto 90 per cent subsidy on the cost of transportation of raw material and finished goods for a maximum period of five years, was launched in July, 1971.
