Former National Wrestler arrested for robbery
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested a former National Wrestler for committing a daylight robbery in the Chandni Chowk in Central Delhi on March 28.
Vikas Tomar (21) who, along with his three assiciates -Pradeep, Sandeep Tyagi and Kailash, committed a sensational robbery in broad daylight in the office of a share broker of Katra Choban of Chandni Chowk on March 28, was arrested in front of Apollo hospital.
Vikas, along with his associates, had looted Rs one lakh from the businessman. While Pradeep and Sandeep were caught by the public when the businessman raised an alarm, Vikas and Kailash managed to escape.
Vikas was arrested after a team of the Speacial cell laid a trap in front of Apollo hospital.
A resident of Bhagpat in Uttar Pradesh, Vikas was fond of wrestling and participated in the National Wrestling Championship.
While living in Tughlakabad area, he came in contact with Pradeep, a notorious robber in Bhagpat. They later organised a gang for committing dacoity and robbery, police said.
