Mumbai, Mar 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha today staged a protest in ''Gandhigiri'' manner for the release of Roshan Jamal Khan, who had been detained by Spanish Police since January 19 this year.
BJP Minority Morcha Mumbai Unit President Hyder Azam said a delegation met Cesar Alba, Councilor General of Spain, here and presented him flowers in ''Gandhigiri'' manner with an appeal to release Mr Khan.
Mr Azam said the meeting with Mr Alba was positive and he had assured us of taking up the case before the Spanish Government.
Mr Alba sought a week's time to give a reply in the matter.
Roshan, who had gone to Spain for some business related work was detained by the Spanish Police at Barcelona, on January 19.
As per the investigating agency report, Roshan is innocent and is not involved in any anti-social activity.
The Morcha will also appeal to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Government of Spain to take an initiative to set Roshan free and bring him back to India with due respect, Mr Azam said.
