Ranchi, Mar 31 (UNI) The dawn-to-dusk bandh called by Ranchi Nagar Nigam Bachao Mahasamiti (RNNBM), today evoked mixed response in the state capital.
The traffic was paralysed and commercial establishments remained closed throughout the day as the bandh supporters shouting anti-government slogans took out procession at the various streets in Ranchi.

Police said that elaborate security arrangements were made to avert any untoward incident.
Yesterday, the agitators took out a torch procession and burnt effigies of state's Human Resources Minister Bandhu Titkey and newly elected Ranchi Municipal Area Mayor Rama Khalako.
The state, formed on November 15, 2000, had witnessed its first municipal elections on March 25 and the process of counting was completed last evening.
