Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 31 (UNI) Air Marshal Suresh Chand Mukul, AVSM, VM, VSM will take over as the New Chief of Southern Air Command here tomorrow.
Air Marshal Mukul was commissioned as a Fighter Pilot in the Indian Air Force in 1972 and has flown almost every combat aircraft.
He has over 4200 hours of flying experience, a release said here.
A graduate of the Defence Services Staff College and an alumnus of the Air War College (USA), Air Marshal Mukul is a Qualified flying Instructor' and a Fighter Combat Leader' from the prestigious Tactics and Combat Development Establishment.
Apart from commanding the frontline fighter squadron, he was also Chief Operations Officer of a fighter base and Command of a frontline airbase. He has also functioned as Air Assistant to the Chief of the Air Staff and as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) at Air Headquarters.
Prior to this assignment, Air Marshal Mukul was the Senior Air Staff Officer at South Western Air Command.
