Ten former Indian envoys in Islamabad for informal Indo-Pak talks

Islamabad, Mar.30 : Ten former Indian ambassadors have arrived here to discuss bilateral relations with a group of former Pakistan envoys.

The moot has been jointly arranged by the Association of Indian Diplomats (AID) and the Association of Former Ambassadors of Pakistan (AFIP).

Former Ambassador Tayyab Siddiqui told the Daily Times that the Indian delegation would hold a meeting with a group of AFIP representatives on Monday. The visit delegation would also interact with various think tanks, including the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), he said.

The former Indian ambassadors may call on new Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and on Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad Khan.

He said the AFIP and the AID would discuss bilateral issues, including peace and security and ongoing peace process between the two countries.

The last meeting of the former ambassadors was held in India in 2005.
