Panchayat employees demand pay scale revision
Tiruchirapalli, Mar 30: The Tamil Nadu Village Panchayat Employees' Association has urged Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to renew the pay scales for all the Panchayat employees and fix it on par with junior assistant cadre.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the association's state executive yesterday. Association state president R Rangaraj and state General Secretary R Charles, in a realese here today, said the meeting also demanded that the government provide retirement benefits like pension and exgratia to the employees.
They also demanded salary disbursal through block development officers. It also wanted the government to regularise the services of water pump operators and health workers in the village panchayats.
