Lahore, Mar.30 : The Pakistan Rangers and India's Border Security Force have agreed to release all people who mistakenly cross the border dividing the two countries on either side within 24 hours of their capture.

The Pakistan Rangers Punjab Director General Major General Muhammad Haroon Aslam, his Sindh counterpart Major General Liaqat Ali, and other officials disclosed this after attending a three-day meeting in Chandigarh with BSF officials.

He said the company commander on each side would have the authority to decide on which people had mistakenly crossed the border.

Aslam told reporters that human smuggling and drug trafficking were the main issues discussed at the meeting. He said both sides maintained their traditional stance on several issues.

Aslam said he hoped that the Indian side would "seriously consider" the objections presented by the Rangers.
