Minor son of city's jeweller crushes two to death

Amritsar, Mar 30 (UNI) A 14-year-old son of city's prominent jeweller today crushed to death two migrant labourers under his car in Basant Avenue here.

According to the police, the labourers, identified as Bittoo (24) and Dharmender (18), both from Gopalganj in Bihar, were going on a bicycle when a car driven by the son of the minor hit them.

While Bittoo died on the spot, Dharmender sucumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The boy was accompanied by his 16-year-old friend. The police has taken both of them into custody.

The police said the families of the deceased have been given a compensation of Rs two lakh each by the father of the boy.
