KPCC empowers DCCs to receive applications from candidates
Bangalore, Mar 30 (UNI) The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has empowered District Congress Committees (DCCs) to receive applications from the aspiring candidates to contest the forthcoming elections in the state, KPCC President Mallikarjuna Kharge said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said AICC General Secretary and Union Minister Prithviraj Chavan convened a meeting of all committees constituted by the AICC, including Campaign Committee, Co-ordination Committee and Committee on Manifesto, and discussed about strategies to prepare the party who will be contesting the coming Assembly elections.
Mr Kharge said it was decided to authorise all DCC's to receive applications from the aspiring candidates and submit it to the KPCC by April four.
The KPCC will scrutinise the applications and put it before the party's screening committee to shortlist the party's nominees and submit it to high command for its clearance, after the announcement of dates for assembly elections, he said.
