Visakhapatnam, Mar 29: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI)'s Southern India Regional Council(SIRC) Chairperson A V Syamala today said the Institute has rationalised its syllabus in consonance with merging trends of the Corporate sector.
Talking to newspersons here, Ms Syamala said the SIRC had embarked upon an ambitious programme for the Company Secretaries course on its own and also through satellite programmes to create career awareness and the merits of the course for the benefit of the students.
The Institute has provided array of facilities, including web- based programme for C S Foundation, coaching classes, accreditation, collaborative centres and public-private-partnerships(PPP). The Institute has also planned to upgrade the 'Distance Learning' mode through higher technical inputs like Video Base Training (VBT) and Live Virtual Classroom(LVC).
The SIRC has 4468 members out of Institute's 18,633, and about 24 per cent of the members were from the Southern Region.
The SIRC and its constitutent chapters periodically conduct programmes for the members to update their knowledge, she added.
