IAF to reduce its inventory: Air Chief
New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major has said the Indian Air Force (IAF) will reduce its inventory to just three or four state-of-the-art aircraft for easier maintenance.
''The IAF is looking at a narrower inventory in the next five to ten years. We will reduce our inventory to just three or four state-of-the-art aircraft (the easier maintenance of) which will be a huge help,'' he told Doordarshan News.
The Air Chief said this would be achieved by way of 126 fourth generation multi-role aircraft and Sukhoi 30 MK series fighters.
He said the way battles were fought today has undergone a sea change.
The aerospace power has become more accurate and responsive than ever before, the Chief of the Air Staff said in the programme 'War and Peace'.
