Gun factory unearthed

Belgaum, Mar 30 (UNI) A gun factory, which was supplying country made pistols to southern Maharashtra and Belgaum district for the last seven to eight years, had been unearthed by the police here.

Talking to newspersons here today, Superintendent of Police (SP) Hemant Nimbalkar said the police had arrested eight people and recovered seven country made pistols with seven live cartridges of 12 bore.

They were identified as Tammanna Ningappa Sutar, Sadashiv Ramappa Kambale alias Bidarmali, Babasaheb Tammanna Sutar, Prakash Halappa Gokak, Rayappa Kenchappa Pujeri, Halappa Murari Dalawayi, Dattatraya Basappa Lohar and Parusharam Saidu Bandagar.

Tammanna Ningappa Sutar used to make guns in his house with the help of his son Babasaheb Tammanna Sutar and sold through Sadashiv Ramappa Kambale alias Bidarmali for Rs 4,000 each, SP added.
