FleetTrac system for private buses in Kerala
Kochi, Mar 30 (UNI) Chennai-based Dhanus Technologies Limited along with its consortium partners Sobha AppliedDSP Limited and Kiran Technologies today entered into an MoU with the Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation (KSPBOF) to install passenger information system (PIS) in all private buses across the State.
Addressing mediapersons here, Company Chairman A D Sudhindra said '' the system, christened FleeTrac, would be installed in over 20,000 buses in the next one year and useful for passengers and bus operators.'' He said information like arrival and departure timings would be available for passengers and the operators could get details on the location and route taken by a particular bus.
According to the MoU, Dhanus would provide the integrated vehicle tracking system to disseminate passenger information through multimedia, including SMS, using the centralised network operating center.
The system, developed at a cost of Rs 50 to 60 crore, will also provide information to passengers both in English and Malayalam, through an LED display in the buses.
Mr Sudhindra said the system would be beneficial for bus, taxi and truck operators and call centre transport.
He said the company had given proposal to Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) for the installation of the system and was also in talks with various States like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi.
