Chennai, Mar 30 (UNI) Team India's ODI and T20 World Cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was presented as 'the Rajnikant of Indian Cricket' at the unveiling of the Chennai Super Kings team for the Cricket Board's Indian Premier League (IPL), to be kicked off here on April 23, at a glittering star-studded function at the Chennai Trade Centre here last night.
To the accompaniment of cheers, the Chennai Super Kings team announced their star-studded lineup alon with a cultural extravaganza.
A blushing Dhoni, in the presence of star ambassadors of the team, actors Vijay and Nayantara, said he was determined to clinch the IPL title for the Chennai Super Kings.
''Leading such a talented side is a privilege for me. The team is a perfect blend of youth and experience and we will fight till our last to emerge as winners,'' he said.
Former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings' brand ambassador Krishnamachari Srikkanth hailed Dhoni as 'the Rajnikanth of the Indian Cricket.' ''Both have their own style, charisma and are admired by many,'' the former India opener said amidst wild cheers.
