Bhattal advises Capt Amarinder Singh to work for Congress
Patiala, Mar 30 (UNI) Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today visited the city of former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and advised him to work for the Congress.
Ms Bhattal, also the CLP leader talking to mediapersons here today said Capt Amarinder Singh should come and work for the Congress, adding party president Sonia Gandhi had appointed her as the state president and Capt Singh by choosing not to work with her could spell trouble for him.
Ms Bhattal, who was absolved in a graft case registered against her recently said, the party was supreme and no person was higher and Capt Singh should understand this.
She was reacting to Capt. Amarinder Singh's statement in which he had commented that he couldn't work with Ms Bhattal, who he alleged had failed to protect Congressmen from the ''terror'' let loose by the Akali Dal government.
Capt. Singh had also alleged that Ms Bhattal had been conniving with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on common minimum programme.
Ms Bhattal had denied the charges and said that the graft case against her was registered during the previous SAD government.
She said the party high command had supported her and also the PCC and all members of the legislature party.
