Bandh call to oppose airport expansion

Imphal, Mar 30: The Joint Action Committee against acquisition of land for expansion and extension of Imphal airport has called for a 13-hour Bandh at Naoriya Pakhanglakpa here on April 1.

The Bandh will begin at 0500 hours and conclude at 0600 hours, the JAC members said. The Manipur government had decided to acquire additional land for expansion of the Imphal (Tulihal) airport, which would affect thousands of villagers from Malom, Ningombam, Meitram, Kodompokpi and Mongshangei areas.
