Arson incidents in Chanderia

Jaipur, Mar 30 (UNI) Incidents of arson were reported in Chanderia township in outer areas of Chittorgarh, even as night curfew in troubled walled city areas of the town was in force till April 4.

According to Police sources about two dozen assailants stormed into the Chanderia Housing Board Colony around 0200 hrs last night and set afire a Maruti van and made similar bid at two houses belonging to a particular community.

However, owner of the van woke up and informed the police, who took swift action to put off the blazes. A case has been registered at the Chanderia police station.

In another minor sporadic incident in walled city, a 12th class student was beaten up yesterday by a group of youths.

The curfew, which was imposed in the walled city areas following communal clashes during Holi celebrations on March 22, had now been restricted during night between 1900 Hrs to 0700 Hrs.
