Jaipur, Mar 29 (UNI) Thirty-five minutes English short film from Canada ''The Letter'', won the best international film award while a Hindi film ''Maa Ganga Kaa Sampurna Darshan'' bags the best national film at the International Festival for Short Films on Culture(IFFC-08) here today .
''The letter'' is a story of a partisan fighter of second world war(1941-44) while 33 minutes Hindi film ''Maa Ganga Kaa Sampurna Darshan'' showcase the rich journey of the holy river, temples, pilgrim spots as well as myths and beliefs associated the sacred river.
Singapore's entry 17.5 minutes Malat, Bawean bilingual--Lost Sole-- bagged the best film on religion award and ''Lesson from Bam" (Austria/Iran) was declared as the best narrative film.
Hindi film, ''Zindagi Kaa Safar'', a story of fallouts of the changing urban life style on potter families bagged the best film from Rajasthan award.
Besides this, Bosnian(sans dialogue) film ''Everything Flows'' won the best documentary film award while, Germany's ''Verschelossen/Closed'' bagged the best animation film title.
Dutch/English entry ''Polder'' from Netherlands was adjudged as best experimental film and Switzerland's ''Japanessay'' declared the best student film (category for film makers below 21 years).
As many as 129 films from 38 countries were exhibited during the three-day event, which was inaugurated by Cine personalities Hema Malini and Jitendra at the Jawahar Kala Kendra here on Thursday.
The awards were presented at the glittering concluding ceremony at the ''Madhyawarti'' at the Jawahar Kala Kendra here this evening.
Colourful folk dance performance by folk dancers from different parts of India kept spectators spell bound.
