Rains likely in Andaman and Nicobar, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu

Pune, Mar 29 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and in some parts of Haryana,Punjab and east Rajasthan. They were above normal in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and in some parts of north Chattisgarh and coasal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were below normal in Assam and in some parts of south Chattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Uttar Pradesh from where data was sparse.

Night temperatures were below normal in Sikkim and north coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, south Haryana, west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, north Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada and in some parts of Orissa, west Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh. They were above normal in Gangetic West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh and in some parts of Jharkhand, Vidarbha and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.
