Mukesh in sight of his third title of the season

Chandigarh, Mar 29 (UNI) Mukesh Kumar fired a bogey-free 68 in the third round of the Centurion Bank of Punjab Open Golf Championship to extend his lead to five strokes here today.

Mukesh is looking good for his third title of the season as his total reads twelve under 204. Gaganjeet Bhullar who shot 71 is five strokes behind and in second position at seven under 209.

Vijay Kumar is in third position as he trails Bhullar by one stroke.

Mukesh was the leader for the third consecutive day after his third round effort of four under 68.

On the front nine, the professional from Mhow made eight pars and a birdie on the second.

He then picked up the pace on the back nine with birdies on the 13th, 17th and 18th.

Gaganjeet Bhullar (69, 69, 71) is placed second heading into the final round. His total moved to seven under 209 after he carded one under 71 in the third round.

Bhullar sank birdies on the sixth, 13th and 17th and dropped bogeys on the first and ninth today.

Vijay Kumar (69, 69, 72) lies third at six under 210.

Chandigarh's Harendra Gupta (71, 72, 68) and Delhi's Manav Jaini (71, 70, 70) are tied fourth with an overall score of five under 211.

Another local professional Sujjan Singh (71, 75, 67) is tied sixth along with C Muniyappa (69, 70, 74). The two have a total of three under 213.

Gurbaaz Mann's 66 was the best round of the tournament so far.

He had shot 73 and 75 in the first two rounds. Mann is currently placed tied eighth as his total stands at two under 214.
