Concessional interest for farmers who pay up loans: CM
Kolhapur, Mar 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the state government has decided to grant concession in interest to farmers who repaid their loans regularly.
Mr Deshmukh was addressing farmers rally at Rashiwade village in this district.
The Chief Minister said the decision has been communicated to all concern district banks and credit societies, and the board of directors of those institutions, which fail to implement the order, will be dissolved, the Chief Minister warned.
The loan waiver by the Centre too has been welcomed by all except the BJP and the Shiv Sena who have failed do anything for the farmers but are now indulging in propaganda, he said.
Earlier, speaking at the Pune and Konkan revenue divisions panchayat samiti members two-day training workshop here, Mr Deshmukh urged the the panchayat members to work hard for rural development.
He said the state government was considering a raise in honorariam paid to panchayat samiti members.
