Aiyar tenders apology to Gill

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Apologising to IHF president KPS Gill, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mani Shankar Aiyar today explained that he never accused him of using government money for personal purposes.

''I have no hesitation in publicly tendering my apology to Gill for this unintended slur on his unblemished reputation,'' Aiyar said in a statement.

''At no time have I said or implied that Gill had misused funds made available by government to the IHF for any personal purposes,'' he added.

Squarely putting the blame on the concerned news channel, the minister said his comments were ''twisted beyond its intent.''
