Mangalore, Mar 28 (UNI) Lok Jagaran Manch (LJM) today urged the union government to completely plug infilteration.
Addressing a press Conference here, LJM Spokesperson Suresh Saikia said that "the Centre should take earnest steps to seal Indo-Bangladesh border at the earliest to totaly stop infilteration".
Expressing his serious concern on increase in infilteration, he said that the people of Assam and other neighbouring states were facing threats from migrated Islam and Christianity mainly due to escalated infiltration from Bangladesh.
"Before the situation become aggressive and go out of hand, the Union government should take all necessary steps particularly on identification of migrants from East Bengal and proper actions against them. The concerned authorities should also take steps to delete their names from the electoral-rolls. The density of Muslim population in Assam was alarmingly increasing.
