Jewellery shop looted, one held at Kandivali
Mumbai, Mar 28: In a broad daylight heist, two robbers broke into a jewellery shop at Kandivali and made away with valuables worth Rs 7.24 lakh, but one of them was almost immediately nabbed along with the booty.
Police said the two, after finding out that the owner of the shop, Vikas Soni, had left for lunch, broke into the shop yesterday afternoon.
The two gathered up Rs 7.24 lakh worth of valuables and were in the process of fleeing when they were spotted by the owner.
Mr Soni raised an alarm, following which a police van, which was passing by, chased the duo and managed to nab one of them who was identified as Shailedra Kumar Ramdulare (18). The booty was recovered from Ramdulare.
The other culprit, now identifed as Ravi Soni (20), however escaped and the police are yet to trace him.
