Washington, Mar 28 : 'Fugitive' writer Jeb Stuart has signed on to direct 'Blood Done Sign My Name', starring Nate Parker.
The film is based on the true story of a black Vietnam veteran allegedly murdered in 1970 by a white businessman and a young teacher's role in the civil unrest that followed his exoneration.
Stuart adapted the film's screenplay from Duke University professor Tim Tyson's book.
Parker will be playing the role of the teacher.
Stuart and wife Mari Stuart's Real Folk Prods.' will produce the film with Mel Efros.
Shooting for this independently financed production will take place in North Carolina in May and June.
