Economic and political resolutions in UPCC convention
Kanpur, Mar 28 (UNI) The resolutions on economic and political situation of Uttar Pradesh will be adopted in a two-day UP Congress Committee (UPCC) convention scheduled to be held here from March 30, the Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said today.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Jaiswal said in economic resolution, the factors which led to UP's financially backwardness would be discussed, while the stock of the previous non-Congress governments would be taken up in political resolution.
He said while Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will arrive in the city on the morning of March 30 and remain present in the convocation for both the days, AICC president Sonia Gandhi will arrive after and address the convocation, besides addressing a public rally at Phoolbagh Ground.
Mr Jaiswal said after flag hoisting, Mr Gandhi will garland the statues of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.
However, due to security reasons, the garlanding programme of the statues of Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi had been cancelled, he informed.
He said Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Jaiprakash Agarwal had already arrived here as a observer of the convention.
