Cop injured in firing outside Prime Minister's Office
New Delhi, Mar 28: A police constable today fired shots outside Prime Minister's Office (PMO) located in South Block, injuring a commando in the incident. The injured commando, Sanjay, who was shot in the thigh by his colleague, has been rushed to the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the constable was deployed in Police Control Room van code named Victor 37, stationed outside the PMO. The commando was part of the Special Deployment Group posted outside the PMO. Officials of the Special Protection Group immediately rushed to the spot and took control of the situation. Meanwhile, the security has been beefed up and senior officials are looking into the matter for all possible angles. As per eye witnesses, the firing was accidental and no foul play has been found in this case.
