Kathmandu, Mar 27: CPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda has said the election results would be unacceptable if his party was defeated in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls slated for April 10.
''Such decision would not be acceptable as the Maoists could only be defeated on conditions that there are conspiracies hatched by national and international reactionary forces,'' Maoists-led state run The Rising Nepal quoted him as saying while speaking at an election meeting at Pathari in eastern Nepal. He said an alliance with the CPN-UML could not take place because of US and Indian pressure.
He also claimed that people's support to the Maoists in the eastern region was comparatively better than the western region which was the base area of the CPN-Maoist.''Reactionary forces are lobbying to defeat the CPN-Maoist after being afraid of growing people's support to the party across the nation,'' he said.
''The parliamentary parties should apologize because they labelled us as 'terrorists' when we were raising the issue of CA and federal republican system,'' he added.
Nepal is holding CA polls for the first time to write a new constitution that will also decide the future of now suspended monarchy.
