Govt committed to development of all section of society: Nitish
Patna, Mar 27(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the NDA government was committed to development of all sections of Society and special emphasis was being given for the uplift of the most oppressed among the downtrodden.
''The NDA government has set the target of turning Bihar into a developed state by the year 2015 and prosperity of all sections of the society was a pre-requisite for achieving the cherished goal,'' Mr Kumar pointed out and added that special care was being taken to protect the interests of the downtrodden, backwards, women, minorities and most oppressed section of the society, during the preparations of various welfare schemes.
Mr Kumar said a separate commission had been constituted for exploring the ways for uplift of the most oppressed section of the society. Without bringing them into the mainstream, any talk of development had no meaning, he added.
To a query, Mr Kumar said action would be taken against erring officers who were found lacking in discharging their responsibility to carry out welfare schemes, as detected in CAG report. He, however, said the Public Account Committee would look into the matter before initiating action against such officials.
