Jalpaiguri, Mar 27 (UNI) Soon after fresh outbreak of Avian flu was reported in Malda and Murshidabad, Jalpaiguri district administration today hinted at presence of the disease.
District Magistrate R Ranjit, however, said they were waiting for the official report.
He informed that a few days ago the Animal Husbandry department had reported recurrence of bird flu in the district after noticing flu-like symptoms among some poultry.
Mr Ranjit further said the blood samples of the infected birds were sent to the Belgachia laboratory in Kolkata, from where it had been sent to Bhopal.
''We can get the confirmed reports only from the Bhopal laboratory. Till then we can't comment on anything,'' he added.
