810 int election observers; one dead in poll violence
Kathmandu, Mar 27 (UNI) A total of 810 international observers would monitor the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections on April 10 across Nepal, according to the Election Commission (EC).
The observers are from 29 organisations and the EC has already issued accreditation to 101 observers from 14 organisations.
Many of them are expected to join work few days before the poll date.
Hundreds of observers from variOus organisations in the Himalayan nation will also be deputed to different parts of the country for the polls.
Meanwhile, one Maoist cadre was killed and dozens of Nepali Congress (NC) workers including former minister Bal Bahadur KC were injured in clashes between NC supporters and Maoists in eastern Solokhumbu district yesterday.
KC and other injured persons were airlifted to Kathmandu and were getting treatment. They are said to be out of danger.
