Subroto to head Environment panel
Bhopal, Mar 26: The Environment and Forest Ministry has constituted Madhya Pradesh's state-level Environment Impact Assessment Authority and Expert Assessment Committee.
Mr Subroto Banerjee will be the chairman-cum-manager of the state-level Environment Impact Assessment Authority with Mr Mohammad Hashim (IFS retired) as its member and Executive Director of Bhopal's EPCO (Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation) as its member-secretary. Mr Suresh Chandra Jain, former Secretary of State Election Commission, would be chairman-cum-manager of the state-level Expert assessment committee.
Environment experts on the panel include Dr S R Shukla, Mr B Subramanian and Prof K C Mathur. Mr K K Goswami would be member forestry and wildlife and Dr D L Manjunath would be member Effect Assessment Process, while Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board member secretary will be a member, official sources said.
