Shimla, Mar 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala said here today that the state government would initiate strict action against hoarders and profiteers in order to check price rise of essential commodities.
Mr Dhawala said that the prices of foodgrains were directly affected by import and export apart from hike in prices of petrol and diesel. He said that the situation could be controlled only if Central Government reduces import duty and ban on export of foodgrains and also by reduction in interest rates.
He said that price rise was a global problem and prices had increased due to market position, which was not under the control of the state government.
