Dubai, Mar 26 (UNI) Faced with disciplinary charge, Chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee Sunil Gavaskar held a meeting with ICC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Melcom Speed here today.
The meeting followed discussions by the ICC Board last week concerning the potential for a conflict of interest for a person chairing the cricket committee while, at the same time, working for a media outlet.
It was agreed that Gavaskar will convey his views to the ICC after chairing the upcoming meeting of the ICC Cricket Committee.
The ICC Board will review the matter at its next meeting, during the Annual Conference week.
The Cricket Committee is scheduled to meet on May 5 and 6.
The ICC Annual Conference week takes place between June 29 and July 4.
Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a statement asserting that media speculation about removal of Sunil Gavaskar as Chairman Cricket Committee on a report in a London newspaper is totally incorrect.
BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah claimed that ICC has confirmed to Indian Board that there has been no decision to remove Sunil Gavaskar.
