Jaunpur, Mar 26 (UNI) A local court today framed charges against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Umakant Yadav and his four accomplices in Shyam Kanhaiya Yadav murder case.
The BSP MP is presently incarcerated in Fatehgarh jail.
On August 24, 2007, Japtapur village pradhan Shyam Kanhaiya Yadav was shot dead.
A named FIR was lodged against BSP MP Umakant Yadav, Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Satrajeet Yadav, Rajdev Yadav and Surendra Yadav.
However, the BSP MP was lodged in jail under Ganster Act on the day of crime.
District Judge Shivanand Mishra today framed charges against Umakant Yadav under section 120 (b) of IPC for plotting murder and the other four under section 302, 147, 148, 149 and 307 of IPC for committing murder.
Next hearing had been fixed for April 16.
