Kolkata, Mar 26 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today asked the city police to inform the bench about how Rizwanur Rehman's body was found lying on the railway track near Patipukur in the eastern fringe of the city.
Justice Dipankar Dutta issued the ruling while lawyer Samaraditya Pal argued for the five police officers, charged by CBI in the case.
The CBI had investigated into the mysterious death of the 30-year-old computer graphics designer and filed report indicting five police officials, including former Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee, on a court order.
Defending the five police personnel, Mr Pal told the court that police had not violated any rules during the investigation in 'Rizwanur-Priyanka' case.
Earlier, the court heard Advocate General Balai Ray's argument, who wound up his hearing last week.
Mr Pal began his arguments for the police officials on Monday last.
The case came to the court after Rizwanur's mother filed a writ petition, saying her son was murdered and demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident.
The computer professional was found dead on September 21, a month after he married hindu girl Priyanka Todi, last year.
