Washington, Mar 26 : The twists and turns of Britney Spears' real-life certainly don't reflect in her reel-life, for the troubled star's guest appearance on a TV sitcom was praised by critics.

The critics were all praise for the 26-year-old singer-cum-actress in her latest portrayal on the small screen in CBS' 'Hot I Met Your Mother'.

According to Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago's Improv Olympic Comedy Club Halpern, who has trained comedians such as Tina Fey, Britney was refreshing in her portrayal as the receptionist smitten by Josh Radnor.

"She did pretty good" playing a dorky receptionist who falls for Ted (Josh Radnor) on CBS' 'Hot I Met Your Mother'. There was a sweetness to her, a vulnerability. She looked beautiful and had screen presence. Even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable," Usmagazine.com quoted her, as telling.

Dean Cudworth, director of the Idol Camp told that her comic timing "was good at some parts, especially in some of her reactions."

According to Cudworth, it was her relaxed nature that made the scene where she handed Ted an embarrassing self-help book he had left in the lobby, work for her.

The scene "really worked because she was relaxed. She was listening to the other characters and played off their performances with ease," said Cudworth.

Her role was "over the top, and she certainly went for it. Clearly, she likes being on camera, no one can argue that!" said Aliza Shane, senior director of NYC's Looking Glass Theater.
