Singapore supports Jiabao's approach on Tibet
Singapore, Mar 25: Singapore is relieved that the situation in Tibet is calming down and noted Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao's approach to hold a dialogue with Dalai Lama based on 'One China.'
"We note the comment of Premier Wen Jiabao that China is prepared to hold dialogue with Dalai Lama based on 'One China' and the renunciation of violence, and we are relieved that the situation in Tibet is calming down," said Singapore's Foreign Ministry in a statement today. Singapore supports the declared policy of the Chinese Government to protect the lives and property of its citizens from violent demonstrators with minimum use of force the ministry said, stressing that the country is opposed to the politicisation of the Olympics.
