London, Mar 25 : Less than a month after refuting reports about their relationship, Australian cricketer Michael Clarke and his model partner Lara Bingle are said to have got engaged in a private ceremony over the Easter break.
Clarke is learnt to have presented a five-carat pear-shaped diamond ring valued at 100,000 dollars, to his sweetheart.
The couple's representative Chris White confirmed the engagement, saying the couple called family and friends over the Easter break with the good news, reported the Daily Telegraph.
The couple, often described as Australia's version of Posh and Becks, have reinvented themselves since they started dating early last year.
According to the paper, Lara's career has been revived by the relationship - recently securing an endorsement for swimwear brand Speedo.
Clarke, whom his team mates call Pup, was last week named as one of Who magazine's 25 most beautiful Australians. He has also signed with fitness brand Slazenger.
The pair are believed to be still in New York and it is unknown when they will return home to celebrate the good news with family and friends.
