Heavy rainfall in several places in Karnataka

Bangalore, Mar 25: Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka and at many places over South Interior Karnataka. Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Kota, Jagalbet, Koppal 9 each, Belthangadi, Gadag 8 eac, Kalghatgi, Navalgund 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Manchikere, Shirahatti, Gangavathy, Kuknoor 6 each, Mulki, Kadra, Yellapura, Kiravatti, Yadwad, Ilkal 5 each, Haliyal, Udupi, Ron, Mudgal, Kerur, Shivani 4 each.

Maximum temperatures rose at a few places over Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were markedly below normal at most places over Interior Karnataka and below normal at most places over Coastal Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 34 Degree Celsius over the State. Minimum temperatures fell at a few places over Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at most places over Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka.

Chamarajanagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 17 Degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and Ghat areas of Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night. Maximum and Minimum temperature likely to be around 32 and 20 Degree Celsius respectively.
