Goa govt has a whopping Rs 5122.88 crore liability
Panaji, Mar 25 (UNI) Goa government has a whopping Rs 5122.88 crore liability as on March 31,2007, Finance Minister Dayanand Narvekar said today.
Replying to an unstarred question, tabled in the state Assembly, the minister said the liability included Rs 652.34 crore towards general provident fund, besides Rs 3139.96 crore loans taken from the Centre and Rs 1227.35 crore loans taken from the market.
The government had at the same time to pay Rs 40876.84 lakhs towards interest for the fiscal 2007-08, he said.
It had already paid Rs 27636.07 lakhs as interest for the first nine months of the last fiscal, he added.
