Hyderabad, Mar 25 (UNI) A farmer, along with his family members, attempted suicide in front of Andhra Pradesh Assembly building today.
Police said M Bikshapathi (37), his wife M Balamma (28), mother M Buggamma (65) and their four children, came to the Assembly and tried to set themselves afire after pouring kerosene.
The traffic constable Sd Mustafa, who was on duty, rushed towards them and took away the kerosene cans and blocked them from entering the gate.
On seeing this, the other policemen overpowered the family and handed them over to Saifabad police for necessary action.
Speaking to newspersons here, Bikshapathi, resident of Ibrahimpatnam village of Ranga Reddy district, said his land was occupied by his brothers illegally. But the officials were not taking any action against them in spite of his complaint.
