Hyderabad, Mar 25 (UNI) Electrothern India, the manufacturer of Yobykes, the largest selling electric two-wheeler in India, plans to invest Rs 40 crore to double its production and set up facility in China for batteries and motors.
The two-wheeler since its launch in 2006, had sold about 45000 bikes in north and western India. The company, which forayed in the South with opening of a showroom today plans to sell 1,00,000 rpt one lakh electric two-wheelers this year, according to company Senior Vice President B K Vaishya. It targets to sell 1000 bikes in Andhra Pradesh in a year, he added.
Mr Vaishya said the company plans to add three more manufacturing lines to its facilties at Kutch in Gujarat, where the production will be ramped up to five lakh vehicles from 2.88 lakh over the next three to five years.
The company was also planning to launch electric three-wheelers and electric vehicle for physically challenged, he added.
