Bihar to introduce community radio service
Patna, Mar 25: The Bihar Government has decided to set up community radio centres in 24 selected schools and colleges in the state this year as a unique process to highlight local talents in different fields.
This was informed by Bihar Information and Public Relations Department (PRD) Minister Arjun Rai while replying to the discussion on budgetory demand of his department in the state Legislative Council here today.
Detailing his plan, Mr Rai said they had already sent all necessary documents in this regard to the concerned authorities in New Delhi and hoped the green signal in the form of licence would come soon.
'' It is a totally new concept in popularising young talents in every locality, '' the Minister said adding each centre when come up would be able to beam its programme at a radius of five km each.
'' We have also sought advice from the Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments on how to improve the service of the PRD, Bihar, including the decentralisation of advertisement policy and programmes, '' the Minister said further detailing his plan for the current year.
Later the Council members passed the budgetary demand through voice votes.
