Anglo-French Textile Mill workers stage novel protest
Puducherry, Mar 25 (UNI) Workers of the State-owned Anglo-French Textile Mill resorted to a novel agitation to press their demands here today.
The workers, who assembled at Venkatasubbareddiyar statue, begged on the street, demanding an upward revision in their wages and dearness allowance on a par with the mill's clerical staff.
Later, police prevented the workers from entering the Assembly premises.
However, their representatives, who were allowed into the Assembly, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.
