Threat calls to legislators concern House
Ranchi, Mar 24 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said the government was aware of the telephone calls and SMS threatening to eliminate several MLAs, including Speaker Alamgir Alam, and added that the DGP has been asked to make inquiry into the matter.
Mr Koda made the statement in the House that expressed concern over the latest development in which besides the Speaker, Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi, Water Resource Minister Kamlesh Kumar Singh, JD(U) MLA Ramesh Singh Munda and some other legislators received telephone calls theatening to eliminate them.
Mr Radha Krishna Kishore (JD-U) in his call attention, notice urged the government to ensure protection of the people's representatives.
The Speaker said he was informed of the threat calls by many members and told the the Government to investigate the matter.
