Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Seven of the 29 State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs) have been incurring losses for the last three years, Andhra Pradesh Cooperation Minister K Lakshminarayana informed the State Assembly today.
In a written reply to Ch Venkata Reddy and other CPI members, he said as many as 1,19,498 employees were working in these enterprises.
Referring to the steps being taken by the government to make the SLPEs turnaround, the Minister said the Government had introduced Memorandum of Understanding for sustaining benefits of reforms to the SLPEs.
The Government had constituted Group of Ministers on SLPEs in 2004 and 2006 to consider reform proposals made by the Department of Public Enterprises, to act as a monitoring and implementation authority in respect of all decisions taken by the Government on SLPE reforms, he added.
