Chennai, Mar 24 (UNI) The working committee meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be held here tomorrow.
The meeting would be chaired by BCCI President and Union Minister Sharad Pawar.
A host of issues, including appointment of support staff for the Indian team, reports of the junior committee, tour programme and fixtures, Vizzy Trophy, Special Committee formed to resolve issues related to Bihar and Jharkhand Cricket Associations, Indian Premier League, India's international commitments and matters related to the ICC would be discussed at the meeting.
Women's cricket is also likely to come up for discussion during the meeting. Establishing an inter-companies tournament to generate employment and a Twenty20 competition to prepare the Indian team for the ICC Women's 20 event likely to be held in England in 2009, were some of the proposals to be made to the BCCI at the meeting.
The BCCI had started encouraging women's cricket since 2006 making available better infrastructure, higher prize money for all tournaments by bringing women's cricket under the BCCI's Rs 4.2 crore prize money scheme and disbursing a daily allowance of 50 US dollar a day to each player for all overseas tours on par with the men's team.
