Nine persons arrested for milk adulteration
Mumbai, Mar 24: City police have arrested nine persons for their alleged involvement in milk adulteration. The nine accused were caught red handed yesterday, when they were allegedly removing milk and mixing water in the milk pouches in room number 980 of Ganesh Chawl, situated in Andheri, in the western suburbs, police said. They were later sent to remand till March 25 by the holiday court.
The accused used to deliver milk to the residents of the area, police said. The police seized more than 500 milk pouches from the accused and arrested them under sections 465, 468, 471, 420, 482, 483, 484 and 488 of the Indian Penal Code.
